Assembled Mouthpiece & Barrel
To make our first sounds, we will begin with just the mouthpiece and the barrel. We will add the rest of the clarinet back on soon.
If your clarinet is already assembled, carefully remove the bell, lower joint, upper joint and place them back in the case to keep them protected.

Trumpet Parts & Assembly
Before we play the trumpet, it is important to understand the parts and proper assembly of the instrument. It is also important to know how to properly clean the instrument to keep the trumpet in good working condition and stay healthy.
Let's get started!
Opening the Case
Step 1- place the case flat on the floor with the handle facing you. If there is a label, the words should be on the top of the case, facing the ceiling.
Step 2- carefully pull the latches up or unzip the case.
Step 3- slowly open the lid. The trumpet and mouthpiece should each be resting in pockets that match their unique shape; you may also have accessories in an extra pocket in the case.
Step 4- take a moment to notice how the trumpet is placed in the case so that you will be able to properly place it back in the case later.
Inside the Case
**Watch the assembly video before taking any of the trumpet parts out of the case**
Protect the Mouthpiece
Remember to be careful with your mouthpiece. You want to keep it clean and the slightest bump can get it stuck.
Protect the Casings
Be very careful to not bump the valve casings; the slightest dent can prevent the valves from moving properly or can cause them to completely freeze up.
Assembly
Step 1: Begin with the trumpet on your left knee and held with your left hand.
Step 1
Step 2: Line the mouthpiece up with the lead pipe and let gravity pull it into the lead pipe. Do no push or press it in.
Step 2
Step 3: Twist your mouthpiece a tiny bit, so that it stays snuggly in the lead pipe.
